GIJ student journalist who got shot goes through successful surgery

Pius Kawnin Asiedu, a level 300 student journalist of the Ghana Institute of journalism has gone through a successful surgery, after being shot in the leg.

Pius was shot at Ablekuma Central Collation Central in Accra while covering the just ended 2020 general elections. The surgery took place at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital (Ridge Hospital).

According to reports, officials of SIC Insurance were at the hospital to give out food and personal items to Pius to help speed his recovery.

The president of Ghana Journalist Association (GJA), Affail Monney led a delegation to unite with Pius in his moment of pain.

Mother of Pius, Madam Elizabeth Akrong has expressed her gratitude to SIC Insurance, the GJA and the Greater Accra Regional Hospital for their concern and support towards her son.
