The government of Kenya has reopened schools today, January 4, 2021 after nine-month closure since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
Millions of Kenya school children both at primary and secondary levels are resuming classes in the country.
In October 2020, the government had allowed students of grade 4, primary and secondary schools to report back to school. Final year students resumed studies but took a break due to the festive season holidays.
The Ministry of Education has issued some helpful guidelines to ease the fight against the spread of coronavirus in the country as schools have reopened.
The government has asked parents to provide face masks and other items the children will need to stay safe while in school but has also promised the good people of Kenya that these items will be distributed to some needy students who may not be able to afford them.
According to the health Ministry of Kenya, the country has recorded 96,802 cases of the virus including 1,685 deaths so far.
