One of Ghana’s leading newspaper companies, Daily Guide has gathered names of potential ministerial appointees, adding that the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will bring out the lists soon.
According to Daily Guide, ministers who excelled in the first term of Akufo-Addo’s government had either been retained or moved to other ministries.
Daily Guide has it that, President Akufo-Addo and his associates were convinced that the party had appointed the best team to assist him in his second term in office.
Ministers to be moved to other ministry
The minister of Education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh popularly known as “NAPO” is likely to be moved to the Energy Ministry. The Deputy Minister at the Education Ministry, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum would be uplifted to replace “NAPO” at the Education Ministry.
The Minister of Development, Mr. Dan Botwe might be appointed as Minister for Local Government and Rural Development.
Ministers to be retained
The Minister for Information, Mr. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Defence Minister, Dominic Nitiwul and the Interior Minister, Ambrose Dery are all likely to retain their position.
The minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Mr. Ken Ofori Atta would be maintained. The Minister of Roads and Highways, Mr. Kwasi Amoako -Atta together with the Minister of Communication, Mrs. Ursula Owusu- Ekuful would also be retained.
The Minister of Food and Agriculture, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto may be maintained.
The Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr. Alan Kyerematen together with the Foreign Affairs and Integration Minister, Shirley Ayokor will also retain their position.
The daily graphic has it that, it is not clear whether the Attorney General, Gloria Akufo would be maintained or replaced her deputy Mr. Godfred Yeboah Dame.
Sources say that the next Minister of Health could be Dr. Anthony Nsiah Asare.
